Cavity insulation using our insulation materials has already proven its strengths in numerous projects—from listed historic buildings to modern residential properties. An impressive example is the energy-efficient refurbishment of a villa from the early 20th century in southern Germany. By specifically insulating the very narrow wall cavity using the high-performance product, the building’s energy efficiency was significantly improved while the historic façade was fully preserved.

Whether old buildings, urban villas, or multi-family homes—the project results demonstrate how flexibly Insute insulation can be used. As a high-performance material for cavity wall constructions, the product is particularly suitable for buildings with narrow wall cavities, where conventional insulation materials cannot be applied. Efficient thermal protection for double-leaf masonry

Many older buildings in northern and western Germany were built with double-leaf masonry. There is an unused airspace between the inner wall and the outer clinker facade. Through retrofitting with cavity wall insulation, this potential can be optimally utilized to significantly increase the home's energy efficiency. In this process, a highly efficient insulation material is blown into the intermediate space. The stagnant air layer, which previously hardly insulated at all, is replaced by a high-performance material. This prevents heating energy from escaping through the exterior walls and protects the interior spaces from cooling down. The renovation is carried out quickly and straightforwardly, usually in just one day.

The technological advantages of modern cavity wall insulation

The requirements for modern cavity wall insulation are high, as the cavity is often irregular or very narrow. Conventional materials frequently reach their limits here. Innovative solutions made of nanopolymer foam, such as Insute, are characterized by an extremely fine grain size and outstanding free-flowing properties. As a result, they fill even minimal gaps of less than four centimeters completely without any voids. The material is completely water-repellent and effectively protects the masonry against driving rain that can penetrate through the outer shell. At the same time, the wall remains vapor-permeable so that moisture from the interior can escape to the outside, which permanently supports a healthy indoor climate.

A professionally executed insulation of the building shell pays for itself in a very short time due to the high energy savings.
