Dr. Roland Oberhoffer and Dr. Alexander Müller, Cologne, Chemistry / Innovative Products

“Against the background of constantly rising energy costs and the increasing importance of climate policy and environmental debates, the founding team has developed an innovative high-performance insulation material based on polystyrene. These nanofoams enable more efficient thermal insulation by a factor of two to three while maintaining the same layer thickness, thus offering a high potential for improving the energy efficiency of buildings. On the one hand, this makes it possible to meet the latest EU energy requirements without spoiling the building facades with even thicker insulation layers. On the other hand, energy consumption and the associated costs can be significantly reduced.”
